Grim Reminder

The Gujarat riots along with the 84 riots and the Babri Masjid demolition and the subsequent effects remain one of the darkest chapters in the history of independent India. A chapter that needs to be closed but not before all the parties involved in that are brought to book. But, sadly it does not seem to happen. The very fact that the person who was actively supporting and encouraging the riots is at the helm of affairs tells us that justice in this case is surely going to be denied. And that is going to be a blackmark on the Indian society as a whole.

Just a grim reminder. Read Prashant Jha's cover story for Himal over here. (link via. Shivam)

I do hope that no more such incidents occur in our society but for that, we need to ensure that the culprits are punished. Until then, we are but a incomplete society.
