Paaji Convicted

Navjot Singh Sidhu has been convicted in a murder case. The High Court convicted him by overturning the acquittal by the lower court. Wonder what is in store for Paaji now!!

BJP MP and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was today convicted by the Punjab and Haryana High Court for causing the death of a Patiala resident following a scuffle in 1989, overturning his acquittal by a lower court.

A division bench comprising Justices Mehtab Singh Gill and Baldev Singh found 43-year-old Sidhu guilty of culpable homocide not amounting to murder and fixed December 6 for pronouncing the quantum of sentence.
Well, the judgement is yet to be delievered and the mandotary appeal in the Supreme Court is also to be done. Lets see where this story goes now. Hope the next judgement, if their appeal in Supreme Court gets accepted is not delievered after another 18 years.

A small correction. It is not a murder case but a culpable homicide case punishable under Section 304 of IPC.

The High Court has taken about 7 years (up to 1999, the case was in the trial court). Let us hope that the case is decided by the Supreme Court within 3-4 years.

@Dr Ashok Dhamija,

Thanks for the correction. There is enough difference between a murder and culpable homicide under our laws and I should have been smart than just copy-paste the text from Hindu.

Thanks...

well his sentence shd be listening to repeats of his own inane commentary or continuous chants of "Oye Guru " "Bas kar yaar" "Chak de phatte .nap di gilli"... Only then will i feel tht justice has been deliverd in the true sense. Also he should be banned from commenting in future life
