Black Friday
After a really long wait, Anurag Kashyap's offering Black Friday is going to release tomorrow. The movie is based on a book by the same name by Hussain Zaidi. Black Friday must be one of those movies that must have been watched by a large number of people before its official release. I have read the book as well as seen the movie. When my friend gave the CD of the movie to me to watch it, he had praised the movie but added as an afterthought that the movie is pro-Muslim. Having read the book and seen the movie, I can't say that the movie is pro-Muslim or pro-Hindu but the movie is pro-truth. The demolition of Babri Masjid, 92-93 riots and the blasts that followed are an integral part of a Mumbaikar who survived that period. It is to Mid-Day , Tariq Ansari , Arindam Mitra and Anurag's credit that they have managed to make a movie on such a sensitive subject.
